Week 3

  • one thing you’ve learned today

Today we did quite a bit of work on system documentation and why it should be done, including the potential consequences of it not being done.

  • why you consider it important (why you’ve chosen that example)

A network which hasn’t been documented will be a complete maze to anyone else who may need to work on it in the future, because they wont know what is on the network, why it’s there etc.

  • how you can use it later

This would be important to me if I was out on call with my workplace and I was installing a network for another company. if someone else then carried on with my work, they would know exactly what has been done to it so far.

  • at least one additional questions it raises

I would still like to do more work on open source alternatives to commonly known proprietary software.
