My favorite game which really gets me immersed is Battlefield 4 which is a first-person shooter video game developed by a Swedish video game developer called EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011’s Battlefield 3
Battlefield 4 is now available for every system except the Wii.
The first thing that happens is you join a server and then the game puts you into a team, you could be different countries but it is completely random like USA versus Russia or China or it could be Russian vs China etc.
The reason this is so immersive is that the graphics are very life-like and that the audio is 3D and when I use my head set I really do feel like I am there. The game gives great feedback in the form of someone on the radio telling you what is going on in the rather large map, for example our team could be taking a base on the other side of the map which brings me onto the vehicles which all alter the sounds like it should do in real life when I am inside the vehicle the outside world seems muffled.
Another feature on why this game is immersive is the way the screen starts to blur and the edges start to go dark when someone is shooting around you but not actually hitting you, making you feel scared.
There is also the big thing with Battlefield 4 which is the game engine it allows you to bring down buildings and even skyscrapers making you feel in control of the surroundings. Unlike other FPS games where you feel like you are in a game because you can’t destroy walls or anything like that making you feel trapped.
Only thing I don’t like about Battlefield 4 is to much to do with the actual game play and the game but EA who are very greedy and at the start had servers failing all the time but also the fact they try to get as much money out of you as possible by making you buy more maps to play with your friends and get extra guns or get gun packages. Which meant new players that didn’t have money were not being able to win because of other players who had bought these packages giving them the advantage.
