The “Introduction to Job Search Skills” course on ALISON is pretty informative and helpful.
The course basically teaches you about different situations in job searching and how to respond to them. It also approaches useful things such as how to explain a gap in your CV to a potential employer and not have them think badly of you for it. It also offers advice on how to approach a job not working out.
I found this course useful as it doesn’t sugar coat things. It offers practical advice that will certainly be of use in my job search.
After completing the course I started to poke around the rest of the courses on the site. I discovered that ALISON pretty much has a course for every subject you could think of. The IT courses are especially interesting, and range from Network Security to android development to creating successful online businesses. I think I’ll find lots to keep myself busy on here.
