Today we did contractions, i.e should not = shouldn’t.
Then we said words relating to healthy living.
We learnt anaerobic and aerobic exercise and the differences. anaerobic is when there isn’t enough oxygen getting to your muscles, which causes the build up of lactic acid, however the benifit of anaerobic exercise is that it helps you stamina, helps grow muscle mass and weight loss. Aerobic is like a “warm up” also know as light exercise, during aerobic exerise your muscles still get the required amounts of oxygen, the benefit of is that it increases the size and strength oof the heart
Flexibility is important as it helps break down the build up of lactic acid, caused by anaerobic exercise, it’s important to stretch so your body doesn’t become stiff
We talked about mental health and the benefits that exercise has on your mental wellbeing due to it releasing endorphins into the body making you happier.
We also talked about how important it is to to get 7-9 hours sleep as it can lead to heart disease, depresssion/anxiety, diabetes and decreased fertility. We also talked about how important it is to relax and unwind as stress can cause health complications.
I am apprehensive of the Virgin Active Gym which we will be visiting on the 11th of May, this is because I feel anxious and self conscious about it as a whole.
