Yesterday we took part in a game development workshop conducted by Darren Adams. At the start of the workshop we looked at how to use Unity and different types of jobs that you can get in the games development world. Then we went on to making the game, making the start-up screen and also positioning the background behind the player. Then we looked at making our player move then we went on to add different obstacles to jump over and avoid.
Over all I think that he was a good teacher and could really relate to the class as he was a gamer too.
What I learnt yesterday was that making a 2D game is difficult and that I don’t respect the developers enough. What I wish I learnt is how to get an animation on the character and how add sound and damaging items to the game and also how to change the speed and jump height of the character.
