Will the Rocket Seeds grow?

Today we planted some seeds which were taken in space.Normal seeds were also planted and an experiment is taking place. The seeds with be treated equally. They will be monitored to see how they grow differently. Leia’s work based learning team will undertake the ¬†experiment.

The seeds will be watered and turned every other day making sure they get the same amount of sunlight. The seeds will be monitored when they germinate and the plant length recorded. The findings will be entered onto a national database. The experiment give some experience on gardening, organising and recording information regularly.

The seeds were planted today in compost and labelled correctly.I have grown a cactus and a house plant. We hope to see differences in the way the plants grow.We will find out whether seeds taken into space will be better or worse.Seeds could be adversely affected by no gravity and a space atmosphere.
